After the success of our Salesforce Center of Excellence Webinar: “How can the Salesforce COE step up in times of uncertainty?”, we have started a series entitled the Salesforce Sitdown with some of those who joined us in the virtual audience! This is our first episode, featuring a conversation with Todd Stalter.
Podcast format, the Salesforce Sitdown kicks off with an insightful conversation I, James Canosa, had a with Todd Stalter - Director of the Global Salesforce Center of Excellence at InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG). This puts Todd at the sharp edge of 85 Salesforce technologists, responsible for development, maintenance, and support of Salesforce solutions across the IHG enterprise, including 13 Salesforce instances and over 25 distinct solutions, supporting 15 different business stakeholder groups (at its peak).
What we captured was an honest conversation about the evolution of Salesforce at IHG, the structure, roles and operation of the COE team and how it interacts with the business. As one of the world’s leading hotel companies, technology - including a robust Salesforce COE - has supported some business continuity, through a still challenging period.
This series is part of a wider community initiative, peer led, for SFDC Tech/COE Leaders to connect with each other on the machinations of successful user adoption, shared best practices and learnings about roles, processes, and tech used in such teams. We don’t always get to be connected to peers in the Salesforce Community, COE leaders can find themselves operating like islands, in their own businesses and separated from others. This is a window in on how Salesforce is run, elsewhere.
